Notice on New Testing Requirements for China-bound Passengers

Starting from April 22, 2022, changes will be made to the requirements for passengers flying from the U.S. to China, which include but are not limited to:

The last nucleic acid test shall be taken within 24 hours, instead of 48 hours, before boarding, and an antigen test taken within 12 hours before boarding.

For the Health Code, there will be a “blue code ”status introduced. Passengers will received a “blue code” if all their test results excluding the 12-hours antigen test are verified by the Chinese Embassy or Consulates General. Before boarding, passengers will be required to present a negative result of antigen teston top of the “blue code”. “Green code” will be issued less often, and those issued are still valid. Passengers holding a “green code” can still be accepted for boarding.

There are also changes to the requirements for the passengers with infection history or transiting in the U.S.

The Chinese Embassy and Consulates General will announce detailed requirements and guidance accordingly.
